Detailed description of Pheasant Golf Course

Pheasant Golf Course, The, is a Public, 9 hole golf course located in Zeeland, Michigan.

The course first opened in 1992.

The Pheasant Golf Course is a 9-hole course measuring 3,100 yards. Playing to a standard par 36, the course has 2 challenging par fives, 5 par fours ranging from 270 yards up to 410 yards and 2 great par 3’s that will test your ability with a wedge and a long iron.

#1 is a challenging par five of over 560 yards. It requires three great shots to get to this small green. The hole has a small creek running on the entire left side of the hole so staying to the right side of the fairway is best.

#2 is the shortest hole at just over 90 yards. It requires a delicate wedge shot to a green protected by water.

#3 is the longest par four on the course at 407 yards. This hole has a wide open landing area for your drive so make sure you get the most of it. The approach shot is made more challenging by the mounds and pond in front of the green.

#4 gives the best chance for birdie on the course. This par 5 measures 510 yards and can be reached in two by some golfers. The small green requires a precise approach.

#6 is the second par 3 on the course measures just under 190 yards but plays longer because it is uphill (the green rises about 15 feet above the tee) requiring about 1 more club than you think.

#7 is a 293 yard par-4. The distance on a par-4 might make it seem like a simple hole, but with trees protecting the tee shot, out of bounds just 30 feet to the right of the fairway, and a small creek running the entire length of the hole on the left, it is not as simple as it seems. An iron is safest off the tee, but for the bold and talented, a driver can lead to an eagle.

#8 is the “signature hole.” At just under 350 yards, this par-4 hole is one of the most difficult due to the narrow entrance to the green, the size of the green (smallest on the course) and the creek protecting the approach shots.

#9 is the only real dog-leg hole on the course. At just over 350 yards, the length is not an issue, but getting your tee shot to move right to left is needed or you’ll find yourself out of bounds.
